Summer here in Kigali is fabulous, it is not hot at all!! Compare to friends in China with over 38° burning sunshine, I feel so lucky this year. Rwanda has a temperate tropical highland climate, so in Kigali the daily temperature ranges between 12°—27°, with little variation through the year. It feels like everyday is spring here❤❤
Life in Gashora gets over. Two months are too short to explore this mysterious village, but it is enough for us to make new friends here with these lovely girls and nice faculties. Technology, classes, village food, rain water and all the happy moments make up of my unique and unforgettable experience here in Gashora Girls Academy.
I was playing volleyball and soccer today with other volunteers. One of the girls she was a member of a soccer team at school. She coached us how to stop the ball and how to shoot in power. A lot of fun with these volunteers:) Our project is heading into final weeks, and girls are having their finals this week. Everyone keeps busy on campus!
These are spring onion, cassava, tomatoes, oranges, papaya, cabbage and….me at the farm in school:)
We recently visited Inema Art Center in Kigali, and was fascinated by the beautiful art work. The founder of the art center runs a program, teaching young orphans how to paint on weekends. It is a fantastic art center, and also a place full of inspiration.
Rempei and Chen try to hear what Professor Joe say at the other side of the world:)
Yesterday we went to CMU-R, having a meeting with our professor.
Yesterday we went to the Gashora town. It is really tiny. It’s about 20mins walk from GGA to town. We wrote down some local languages and tried to speak with sellers, but unluckily failed:)

Last Sunday is the Parents Visiting day in Gashora Girls Academy. A lot of girls’ parents coming to spend one day with their kids. It is definitely a nice for parents communicating with their kids’ advisors. After this busy day, school organized a lovely faculty party. We have special fish today:) The head of school-Mr. Peter thanks all the effort that teachers and staff make for these girls.
